Agatti Island
Agatti is the gateway to Lakshadweep — a spectacular lagoon island with direct flights from Kochi, stunning sandbars, excellent snorkelling, and the best sunsets in the territory.
Agatti is the gateway island of Lakshadweep — the only island in the entire Union Territory with a commercial airport, making it the arrival point for all air visitors. Beyond its logistical role, Agatti is a beautiful island in its own right. The west-facing lagoon is one of the widest and most spectacular in the archipelago, with vast sandbars that emerge at low tide and create surreal tableaux of white sand rising from electric-blue water. The island has a small permanent population of approximately 8,000 residents, two SPORTS resorts (Agatti Island Beach Resort and Agatti Lagoon Beach Resort), and excellent snorkelling on the house reef.
