Kadmat Island

Kadmat Island

Kadmat is the dive capital of Lakshadweep — a narrow island with a shallow snorkelling lagoon on one side and a world-class wall reef on the other, with whale sharks in season.

Kadmat (also spelled Kadamat) is a long, narrow island in the northern cluster of the Lakshadweep archipelago, approximately 400 km from the Kerala coast. It is 8 km long and just 550 metres wide, with a shallow east-side lagoon ideal for snorkelling and a dramatic west-side deep-water reef that is one of the premier wall-diving sites in the Indian subcontinent. The Kadmat Wall descends from 6 metres to over 40 metres and is colonised by sea fans, soft corals, and frequented by whale sharks (November–March), manta rays, and large pelagics. The SPORTS Kadmat Beach Resort offers comfortable accommodation with a full-service PADI dive centre.
